BLADE _CONTROL ORIENTED WAVE
The Blade has defined the 5-batten wave sail category for 20 years. The latest 024 incarnation continues to refine and polish this proven performer.
Delivering dependable performance across the widest possible wind range. A perfect blend of power and control.
Both Blade and BladePro have been developed on an identical platform. The PRO construction offers the ultimate experience while the Blade replicates the dynamic performance in a more accessible construction.
Both constructions utilize GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY to logically reduce weight, increase strength, and control stretch. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity.
The Blade features quality materials including VX2, SpiderFibre, and eM4. The BladePro is crafted in CARBON FUSION.
Total Control. The Blade is the control-oriented wave sail for any conditions.

“Riding the Blade I feel I can focus my attention
on my sailing and not how the sail is working
because it’s simply perfect!.“
VX2 is a vertically oriented X-Ply featuring increased fibre density for stability and control, reduced film thickness for less weight, and our proven scrim layer for dependable durability. The 2 signifies the film thickness in mil.
VX2 laminate significantly reduces deformation in the sail compared to eM3 material. The vertical stretch has been reduced by more than 20% whilst the horizontal stretch characteristics have increased fractionally to enhance the elastic springy feel that has defined the SV wave sails.
3&4 ROLLER TACK PULLEY
Roller tack pulleys are matched to the sails downhaul requirements and aligned for friction free downhauling and threading ease. Rig your sails with the Severne Hardware Division extensions for function and simplicity.
THERMOFORMED TACK FAIRING
Protects your board from impact and neatly covers the foot detailing. It incorporates the rope stash pocket for easy storage of your downhaul rope.
MOLDED SOFT EDGE
With recessed grooving, covering any vulnerable stitching the moulded soft edge encloses the hard edge long the foot of the sail and protects the stitching from wear along the board non-skid.
A web of fibreglass filament that disburses loads across seams and throughout the body of the sail. By using stronger, lighter fibres and reducing sail patching, we can measurably reduce weight and swing weigh and at the same time, increase strength.
EM4 HIGH LOAD LAMINATE
Based on the proven eM3 platform, the high load eM4 material features twice the amount of X-Ply fibre and increased film thickness to maximise durability. This new material allows weight reduction whilst maintaining puncture resistance and tear strength. Used in the lower impact zone in the sail.
GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY
Corners have overlapped panels which reduces the amount of patching. At the same time, these overlapped areas extend into the body of the sail so it transitions the load much better, will be less stretched over time. It’s a more stable way of building sails.
Rather than a single curved luff panel, the Blade uses separate panels that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load. Previously the curved panel would have bias stretch in all the wrong places. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity. Total Control.
GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY
With the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY improvements are obvious. Lighter weight and better stability.

The GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY logically reduces weight, increases strength and controls stretch. Overall weight is reduced but the more significant improvement is the feel – quicker reacting and lighter feel.
Rather than a single curved luff panel, we use separate panels – split luff – that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load.

RDM RED – For ultimate performance.
RDM BLUE – High-end performance with increased reliability.
BLADE PRO is recommended for RDM masts.
ENIGMA – For ultimate performance.
/ BLADE PRO
The BLADE is less expensive than BLADE PRO.
/ S-I PRO
The BLADE has 5 battens.
The BLADE drives power down through the board for maximum control.
The BLADE has a wider wind range. The BLADE is more control oriented
WHAT IS NEW ON THE 024 BLADE?
